Pastor Phil Layton grew up as a missionary kid in the Philippines, where his parents still serve as career missionaries with Association of Baptists for World Evangelism involved in creation science evangelism and church-strengthening ministries similar to ICR & Answers in Genesis. Phil is a graduate of The Master's College in 1997 and The Master's Seminary ( www.tms.edu) in 2006.
Before accepting the call to be Pastor-Teacher at Gold Country Baptist Church in the fall of 2006, Phil served for 10 years as a lay-leader and shepherd at Grace Community Church ( www.gracechurch.org) under the preaching ministry of John MacArthur ( www.gty.org) and elder oversight of Phil Johnson ( www.spurgeon.org). Pastor Phil Layton is committed to expository preaching, the sufficiency of Scripture for ministry and all of life, the doctrines of grace, spreading a passion for a high view of God and His Word, and pursuing a ministry that is Scripture-saturated, Christ-centered, God-glorifying, and Spirit-sensitive. The Lord has blessed Phil with his wife Jaime (married in 1997) and three daughters; Ella, Annalee, and Georgia, and a son Adam Timothy.

Pastor Dale Cundall planted Gold Country Baptist Church 28 years ago and has been a pastor since 1954. No longer serving as a staff pastor, he continues to serve as Elder and "Pastor Emeritus" of GCBC.

Pastor Dale grew up in San Jose, CA, has been Married to his beloved wife Marion for 53 years, has 3 daughters and one son, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

College . Jerry has been a practicing Chiropractor for 10 years while serving as an elder at Gold Country Baptist. He and his wife Anna have been married for over 18 years and have 2 children, Carolyn and Jeffrey. Jerry is Associate Pastor, the church’s Music Director and an avid golfer. The latter having prompted Jerry to embrace the following verse. Proverbs 30:2a. (make sure and look this one up)

El Dorado Hills CA, and he and his wife Ashley have been blessed with their first son Ethan. Matthew is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Western Seminary in Portland Oregon and his wife Krista works in Western’s Administration Office. Sarah is currently training for ministry at
Simpson
University in
Redding CA as a Mass Communications Major.
